Palisade Collections, LLC on false AT&T account

Palisades Collection complaint by KinVA

Palisade Collections just came up on my credit report for an AT&T bill of $400+. I did a little research first on Palisade, and after reading many of your posts, I called AT&T first. I got to their Collections department (1-800-947-5096) and spoke to a very nice woman.

After checking her databases for me, for a current or a past account, they were able to say with 100% certainty that I've never had an AT&T account. She put in a ticket to have a letter mailed to me so I can dispute. I should have it by 28 February.

Anyone in this boat should call AT&T first, get a history of your account or a letter stating you've never had an account (or at least do not owe $$).

Type of a letter to Palisades instructing them to delete this from your credit report. Contact all three credit reports.

If you do not hear from Palisades within a reasonable time (say 10 business days or if you are generous, a month) tell them you'll be contacting the NJ state's Attorney's Office as well as the state Attorney's office if you live in a different state.

Also, file a BBB complaint. If you are in a searching mood, check Palisades out on BBB.ORG. They have a negative report with BBB.
